At Empowered Education, Ana Paula works with students to navigate the college application process, from brainstorming and refining personal statements to preparing for interviews and strengthening supplemental essays. With her background in leadership, communication, and education, she helps students tell their stories with clarity and authenticity.

Ana Paula’s Journey

Ana Paula graduated from the University of Richmond in 2021 with a double major in Leadership Studies and Rhetoric & Communication Studies and a minor in Education and Society. She attended the University of Richmond on a full scholarship and was selected as the Student Commencement Speaker at graduation. During her time there, she also trained in public speaking and worked as a Speech Consultant, guiding students in strengthening their communication skills for presentations, interviews, and beyond.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies through the International Graduate Programs for Educators at Buffalo State University.

Professional Experiences

For the past three years, Ana Paula has been part of the American School of Tegucigalpa community. She first served as an Elementary Teacher Assistant in Math, where she collaborated on lesson planning, supported differentiated learning, and provided one-on-one support for students. She now works as part of the Middle School Student Services team, where she assists with individualized educational plans (IEPs), student progress monitoring, and academic and emotional support.

Ana Paula is passionate about encouraging students to reach their full potential. She especially enjoys helping them tell their stories through essays and interviews, combining her love of reading, writing, and public speaking.
