Ana Lucia’s Journey

Ana Lucía graduated from the American School of Tegucigalpa (AST) in 2017, where she was an active and passionate student leader. She participated in several clubs, including:

• National Honor Society (President in her senior year)

• Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

• Student Council Senator

• Founder of the Global Issues Network (GIN) Club, which she started with five classmates in 8th grade and continued throughout high school

One of her most meaningful high school experiences was organizing the “Mi Meta Es” marathon as a junior, which funded the transformation of Casa David’s kitchen—enabling the shelter to host more visitors near IHSS hospital.

She graduated ranked #3 in her class and received the Ambassadors Award during graduation.

Ana Lucía went on to attend the University of Southern California (USC) as a Presidential Scholar in the McCarthy Honors College, receiving a merit-based scholarship of over $100,000. She majored in International Relations and minored in both Dance and Disruptive Innovation, graduating Cum Laude.

While at USC, she continued her passion for service and involvement:

• Member of Delta Phi Epsilon, the Professional International Relations Fraternity

• Member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority (Delta Chapter)

• Member of Troy Camp, a long-term mentorship program for kids in South LA

• Tour Guide and Student Ambassador at the USC Admissions Center

Outside academics, Ana Lucía is a certified yoga teacher, brews her own kombucha, and is a voracious reader—having read over 12 books in just two months.
